Harvey Salls

     Harvey Salls was born on 3 December 1824 at Brome, Brome Co, Quebec.¹ He was the son of Abraham Salls Jr and Melinda McCoy. Harvey Salls married Elizabeth Amanda Whitehead on 30 May 1853 at Brome Congregational, Brome, Brome Co, Quebec. Harvey Salls died on 9 June 1913 at Hyde Park, Lamoille Co, Vermont, at age 88; Cause of death was listed as General Arteriosclerosis.² He was buried at Hyde Park Plains Cemetery, Hyde Park, Lamoille Co, Vermont.³
     He appeared on the census of 1861 at Brome, Brome Co, Quebec; Harvey Salls, 33, widowed, Pheby, 27, Melvin W., 7, and Melvina A., 4 and Darwin. Pheby would be his sister Phebe.⁴ He appeared on the census of 1871 at Brome, Brome Co, Quebec; Harvey Salls, 50, widower, Melvin M., 17, Malvina A., 14, and Darwin L., 11. The family listed the religion as Advent.⁵ He appeared on the census of 1881 at Potton, Brome Co, Quebec; Harvey Salls, 54, widower, and had his son Melvin W. Salls, 25, wife Kate, 22, George M., 4, Maggie M., 2. They were Adventist.⁶
