George J. Patterson was born in March 1843 at Bangor, Franklin Co, New York.¹ He was the son of Lobina Bull Patterson and Lydia Jane Hoose. George J. Patterson married Augusta Patterson, daughter of Jehiel Patterson and Phoebe Ann Hoose, circa 1862. George J. Patterson died on 6 June 1900 at Waterbury, Washington Co, Vermont, at age 57; George J. Patterson, 57, widowed, along with Lobina H., 19, and Roscoe C., 18.¹
This notice appeared in the newspaper on 9 Aug 1879:

" Whereas my wife Augusta H. Pattrson, left home without any just cause July 11, 1879, taking her three youngest children with her, I forbid all persons harboring them or trusting her or them on my account.

Geo. J. Patteson, Waterbury, Vt."²
