     Sophia Wood was born on 4 June 1838 at River Phillip, Cumberland Co, Nova Scotia.2,1 She was the daughter of Nelson Wood and Sarah A. Wood.1 Sophia Wood married Josiah P. Vickery on 6 September 1860 at Lowell, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; Josiah was a 38 year old painter, and Sophia was 22. It was Josiah's 2nd marriage.3 Sophia Wood married David T. Sanford on 26 November 1870.4 Sophia Wood died on 20 September 1923 at age 85.1 She was buried at Pinesbridge Cemetery, Beacon Falls, New Haven Co, Connecticut.1
