Stephen Covey

     Stephen Covey was born circa 1827 at Quebec. He was the son of Daniel Miles Covey and Mary (?) Stephen Covey married Eliza Jane Partlow, daughter of James Partlow and Elenore Van Dyke, on 1 January 1850 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont. Stephen Covey married Catherine Welch circa 1864 at New York. Stephen Covey died on 1 May 1892 at Little Falls, Herkimer Co, New York; He died from chronic nephritis.¹ He was buried at Lowville Rural Cemetery, Lowville, Lewis Co, New York.²
     He appeared on the census of 6 June 1860 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont; Stephen, 33, Eliza J, 35, Miles M, 10, Daniel J, 8, Uriah, 6, all born Canada; Eliza E., 4, Charles, 3, Stephen, 2 and Jane, 2 mos, all born Vermont.³ He appeared on the census of 9 June 1865 at Greig, Lewis Co, New York; Stephen Covey, 36, b. Canada, Catherine, 22, wife, b. Ireland. Mary Delaney, 23, servant, b. Ireland and William P. White, 3 yrs 10 mos, son, b. Lewis.⁴ He appeared on the census of 17 July 1870 at Harrisburgh, Lewis Co, New York; Stephen Covey, 36, b. Canada, Catherine, 28, b. Ireland, Mary Ann, 3, Walter J, 2 and Stephen E, 6 mos, all b. New York.⁵ He appeared on the census of 3 June 1880 at Montague, Lewis Co, New York; Stephen Covy, 54, Katie, 38, Mary, 13, Walter, 12, Stephen, 10, Fanny, 7, Katie, 5, Julia, 3, Elizabeth, 1 and Ida, 1.⁶
