     Anita Caicla was born on 31 January 1923 at Portland, Cumberland Co, Maine.1 She married William Clark Lowe, son of William Herbert Lowe and Sarah Ann Dean, on 11 July 1941 at Maine.1 Anita Caicla married Gary V. Downs on 16 June 1951 at Portland, Cumberland Co, Maine.2 Anita Caicla died on 27 June 2005 at age 82; Anita “Kay” Downs Nelson, 82, died June 27, 2005, at The Cedars in Portland. She was born in Portland, a daughter of Augustino and Giacinta (Sirsol) Caicla and was educated in Portland schools, graduating from Deering High School, Class of 1941.

She was employed for five years at the Maine Medical Center and later for 10 years at the former Data General in Westbrook.

She was a longtime member of The South Portland Church of the Nazarene, where she was a member of the choir and taught Sunday School.3,4 She was buried at Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland, Cumberland Co, Maine.4
