     Joseph Adams was born on 23 October 1786 at Bennington Co, Vermont. He was the son of Henry Adams and Joanna Tryon. Joseph Adams married Orpha Colliins on 14 September 1822 at Elizabethtown, Essex Co, New York.1,2 Joseph Adams died on 8 May 1855 at Willsboro, Essex Co, New York, at age 68.1,3 He was buried at Gilliland Cemetery, Willsboro, Essex Co, New York.3
     Joseph enlisted 2 Sep 1814. He was a Private in Capt. Aiken's Co, New York Militia. Apparently, he was discharged on 14 Sep 1814.1
