Claude James Salls

     Claude James Salls was born on 20 May 1879 at Fort Covington, Franklin Co, New York.¹ He was the son of Merritt Alonzo Salls and Lydia Maria Young. Claude James Salls married Maude Leslie Richardson, daughter of Timothy Richardson and Harriet Clegg, on 5 June 1901 at Clinton, Worcester Co, Massachusetts; by C. Grey Robbins, clergyman, Leominister, MA.^2,3 Claude James Salls married Blancheson Witherall, daughter of William C. Witherall and Adeline Mason, on 14 July 1914 at Lynn, Essex Co, Massachusetts. Claude James Salls died on 2 July 1954 at Lynn Hospital, Lynn, Essex Co, Massachusetts, at age 75; Claude died just six weeks after his wife. He had lived in Lynn for 35 years and was a retired meat cutter.⁴ He was buried at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn, Essex Co, Massachusetts; Plot-T,Section-3,Lot-502,Grave-1.^5,4
     On 12 September 1918, Claude was aged 39 years and was a resident on Amity Street, Lynn.¹
