     Edward Tallman was born on 30 November 1838 at Peru, Clinton Co, New York.1 He was the son of Joseph Tallman and Hannah (?) Edward Tallman has also be reported to have been born 31 January 1839.2 He married Mary (?) circa 1860. Edward Tallman married Clarissa Minerva Wade, daughter of Horatio Wade and Marie Phoebe Letarte, circa 1866 at Essex Co, New York. Edward Tallman died on 16 August 1913 at Burlington, Chittenden Co, Vermont, at age 74; His death was caused by arteriosclerosis and gangrene of the toe. The certificate lists Jane Patterson as his mother. He was a widower.2,1 He was buried at Whallon's Bay Cemetery, Essex, Essex Co, New York.2
     He appeared on the census of 20 August 1870 at Essex, Essex Co, New York.3 He appeared on the census of 16 June 1880 at Essex, Essex Co, New York; Edward Tallman, Fannie, 14, Norah, 10, Blanche, 7, Theodore, 5, Orrin, 2, and Nellie, 11.4 He appeared on the census of 16 April 1910 at Perinton, Monroe Co, New York; Edward Tallman, father-in-law, 71, was widowed and living with his daughter's family. Chas E. Derby and wife Phoebe, along with four children were living together.5
