     Mary E. Salls was born circa 1823 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 She was the daughter of George Field Salls and Elizabeth Danford. Mary E. Salls died after 1881 at Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Mary was still living with the Clark family in 1881. She was listed as 57 years old and was a servant.2,3,4
     She appeared on the census of 1861 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Mary was now 38 years old, and unmarried.5 She and George Field Salls appeared on the census of 1871 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; George was 95 years old, living with George Melville, 49, his wife Sarah, 50 and daughter, Harriet. His daughter, Mary, enumerated next to them, in the household of G.N. Clark and family. Mary was 47 and a servant there.3
