     George Field Salls was born circa 1781 at Canaan, Columbia Co, New York.1,2 He was the son of Jacob Salls and Margaret Taylor. George Field Salls was baptized on 3 August 1783 at New Lebanon, Columbia Co, New York.2 He married Elizabeth Danford, daughter of Samuel Danford and Mary (?). George Field Salls died on 23 January 1872 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.3 He was buried on 24 January 1872 at St George's Anglican Cemetery, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.
     He appeared on the census of 1851 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; George F. Salls, laborer, b. US., Methodist, 71, Elizabeth, b. US, 68, Mary, b. Canada, 28.1 He appeared on the census of 1861 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; George was widowed, and now 85, accompanied by his daughter, Mary, 38.4 He and Mary E. Salls appeared on the census of 1871 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; George was 95 years old, living with George Melville, 49, his wife Sarah, 50 and daughter, Harriet. His daughter, Mary, enumerated next to them, in the household of G.N. Clark and family. Mary was 47 and a servant there.5
