     Mary Garfield was born on 24 May 1783 at Tyringham, Berkshire Co, Massachusetts. She married Samuel Hawley Salls, son of Samuel Salls and Rachel (?), on 4 April 1826 at Lee, Berkshire Co, Massachusetts; Samuel Hawley Salls was of Canaan, New York at the time of marriage.1 Mary Garfield died on 16 February 1874 at Canaan, Columbia Co, New York, at age 90.2
     Mary Garfield also went by the name of Polly Garfield.
