     Rachel Salls was born in December 1796 at Canaan, Columbia Co, New York.1 She was the daughter of Isaac Salls and Margaret Doubleday. Rachel Salls was baptized on 17 March 1797 at New York.1 She married Zalmon Skinner circa 1820 at New York; Sketches about the family were written by Orlando's wife, Martha J. Reeder Skinner. She indicates "Zalmon Skinner, his father, was of English descent. His mother, whose maiden name was Rachel Salls, was of Scotch parantage".2,3
