He appeared on the census of 1851 at Hemmingford, Beauharnois Co, Quebec; Dan S. Tolman, labourer, b. Canada, C of England, 30, Delia, Roman Cath, 24, Eliza, 4, Mary, 3 and Delia, 1, and brother, John, 48.2 He appeared on the census of 1861 at Hemmingford, Huntingdon Co, Quebec; "David" Tollman, 39, wife Delia, 32, Eliza, 13, Mary, 12, Florence, 9, Cyril, 8, Delia, 7, Israel, 4, and Saloma, 2. Moore (40-302). He appeared on the census of 14 June 1900 at Mooers, Clinton Co, New York; Daniel S. Tallman, 81, and wife Delia, 78, married 60 years. They had 6 children, with 5 living. Daniel's enumeration lists that his father was born Germany and his mother in New Hampshire. (?)1
