     Mary Covey was born circa 1800 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont; Her father's will mentions her among daughters who were of age. It is quite possible that Samuel's first wife died following her birth. She may be named after her mother, but that is purely speculative on this writer's part.1 She was the daughter of Samuel Covey and (Mary?) Yearns/Hearns.
