Nancy Lydia Jane
Covey was born on 21 November 1853 at
Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.
1,2 She was the daughter of
Alfred Melville Covey and
Jane Nokes Longeway.
1 Nancy Lydia Jane Covey married
Cresser Hebb, son of
Edward Hebb and
Betsy Lamplough, on 25 April 1877 at
Cambridge, Lamoille Co, Vermont.
3 Nancy Lydia Jane Covey died on 18 June 1948 at
Lincoln, Lancaster Co, Nebraska, at age 94.
1,4 After Jennie's mother died in 1854, Jennie was taken of by her sister Mary, but Mary died about 1866. Family records indicate she went to live with her father's sister, Nancy Covey Reynolds, but unfortunately, Nancy died about 1869 and she was sent to live with a cousin, Mr & Mrs Brayton. It is suspected that this would be Nancy (Hislop) Brayton, wife of Albert Brayton of Boston, Mass. Nancy (Hislop) Brayton was the Granddaughter of Arlotta (Covey) who married Jacob Young. She was learning dressmaking from her cousins, and then lived with her brothers a short while before marrying Cresser Hebb in 1877.
4 She appeared on the census of 1880 at
Cambridge, Lamoille Co, Vermont.
5 Nancy Lydia Jane Covey was also known as Jennie L. Covey.
5,6 She appeared on the census of 1930 at
Lincoln, Lancaster Co, Nebraska; Jennie Hebb, 76 and widowed was living with her niece, Jennie Gillespie and haer family.
