Reverend Abel Henry Washburn was born circa 1825 at New Brunswick.1 He was the son of Abel Washburn and Abigail Vaughan. Reverend Abel Henry Washburn married Patience Amelia Howard, daughter of John Howard Jr and Rachel Campbell Kerr, on 23 February 1851 at St Martins, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; They were married by Rev. Wellington Jackson. Abel was listed as a shipbuilder. Witnesses were B. Ruddick and James Washburn.2 Reverend Abel Henry Washburn died between 1891 and 1900 at Oregon; Patience was listed as a widow in the 1900 census at Baker, Oregon.3,4
