Patience Howard was born on 8 November 1764 at New York.1,2 She was the daughter of Edward Howard Jr and Phoebe Hart. Patience Howard married John Howard on 28 November 1784 at Pawling, Dutchess Co, New York.1 Patience Howard was christened on 21 July 1824 at St Paul's Anglican Church, Hampton, Kings Co, New Brunswick; She was baptised as an adult, daughter of Edward and Phoebe Howard, from New York State.3 She died on 11 March 1856 at Milltown, Charlotte Co, New Brunswick, at age 91; Patience was aged 92 years at death.4,1 She was buried at St Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Hampton, Kings Co, New Brunswick.5
About 1972, a small history was written about Fairfield, New Brunswick. It claimed that Patience was the daughter of King George III by Hannah Lightfoot. This continued in story after story until the mid 1990's. TV broadcasts and newspapers carried the story. A bit more than I can verify, for sure. I shall leave it that she is daughter of Edward and Phebe Howard.6

"Patience Howard of the Parish of Hampton County of Kings - in the province of New Brunswick widow came this day before me and made oath that she was lawfully married on the twenty eighth day Nov in the year of our Lord one thousand seven houndred and eighty four to John Howard late a Captain on Half Pay of the Orange Rangers, a regiment of is late Majesty's late British American Forces, who died at Hampton aforesaid on the first day of July now last part, and that she has no pension allowance from Government."
Sworn before the Justice of the Peace Hazen at Saint John on 16 Sep 1824.7
