Walter Arrowsmith was born on 11 July 1888 at Newport, Newport Co, Rhode Island; Registered in Boston, Walter's birth record indicates he was born in Newport. Residence of his parents was given as Boston.1,2 He was the son of George Arrowsmith and Amanda Elizabeth Daley. Walter Arrowsmith died on 24 May 1930 at age 41. He was buried at Methodist Burying Ground, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.
He was reinterred at Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick. He appeared on the census of 4 June 1900 in the household of William D. MacIntosh at Westville Street, Boston, Suffolk Co, Massachusetts; William D. McIntosh, 39, b. Canada, carpenter; Mable J., 38, b. Canada, as well as Walter Arrowsmith, their nephew, 11 , b. Rhode Island. The census indicated his father was born in Canada Eng, and mother in England, rather than the other way around. William and Mable had been married 14 years, and she had 2 children, but none living. William had come to Massachusetts in 1880 and was naturalized, while Mable and Walter had come in 1899.3
