     John James Rodgers was born on 15 January 1859 at New Brunswick.1 He was the son of John Henry Rodgers and Margaret Jane Mallory. John James Rodgers married Elizabeth Benjamin, daughter of William Henry Benjamin and Mary Elizabeth Wood, on 20 October 1885. John James Rodgers died on 18 October 1918 at Barnesville, Kings Co, New Brunswick, at age 59;
Mr. Rodgers had suffered for some time and his death was not unexpected. He was for many years a member of the Orange Lodge. He is survived by his wife and five sons, Joseph, William, Robert and Thomas, at home, and Samuel, of Hammond; and four sisters - three in New London, (Conn), and one a resident of Barnesville. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Mr. McLaren and interment was at the Church of England burying ground. A very sad feature of his death was that his youngest son, George, aged thirteen years, was shot two days before Mr. Rodgers Death and was conveyed to the General Public Hospital, St John, where it was found that the wound was fatal and where he died three weeks later on November 5.2
