They had been married 18 yrs and had one child.1 As of 7 June 1900, William Hix Salls was also known as Hicks Salls.1 He appeared on the census of 18 April 1910 at Washington, District of Columbia; William H. Salls, Kate L., 52, Clinton A., 26 and his wife, Minnette, 20.2 He appeared on the census of 16 January 1920 at Upper Penns Neck, Salem Co, New Jersey; William Salls, 56, Kate, 56, b. Canada, and son Clinton, 26, b. Massachusetts. This census records that he was born New York, and his father was also born there, with his mother born in Vermont.3 He appeared on the census of 8 April 1930 at Wenonah, Gloucester Co, New Jersey; William H. Salls, 73, wife Kathryn L., 65, and son Clinton A., 46.4
