Isaac Salls Jr.

     Isaac Salls Jr. was born in March 1816 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. He was the son of Isaac Salls and Elizabeth Crawford. Isaac Salls Jr. married Mary Melissa Derick, daughter of William Derick and Melinda Hurlbut, on 4 October 1838 at St Armand, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Isaac Salls was aged 23 years, and Melissa was aged 20 years, and married with the consent of her father, William Derick.¹ Isaac Salls Jr. died on 2 March 1893 at Glines Corners, Stanstead Co, Quebec; Certified Extract from the Superior Court of Saint Francis, taken from the Register of Baptisms, Marriages and Burials for Stanstead Plain and Beebe Plain, 1893.² He was buried on 4 March 1893 at Beebe Plain Cemetery, Beebe, Stanstead Co, Quebec.²
     He appeared on the census of 1851 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Isaac Salls, Jr., farmer, b. Canada, Episcopalian, 36, Melissa, 34, Merit, 13, Edith, 9, Enoch, 6, Napolean, 4, and Elizabeth M., 2.³ He appeared on the census of 21 June 1870 at Burke, Franklin Co, New York; Isaac "Serls" 54, wife Melissa, 53, "Hicks" 13, Eliza, 11, Lucy, 8 and John, 1.⁴ He appeared on the census of 1881 at Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec; Isaac Salls, 65, Mary M., 62, William H., 24, all born US, also all Church of England; Eliza, 22, and son John, 12, were both Wesleyan Methodist, she born Quebec, he born US.⁵ He appeared on the census of 17 April 1891 at Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec; Isaac Salls, 75, b. Quebec, Ch of Eng, farmer, Melissa, 74, b. Quebec, Methodist, and son John, 22, b. Quebec, also Methodist.⁶
