Mary Melissa Derick was born on 21 March 1819 at Christie's Manor, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. She was the daughter of William Derick and Melinda Hurlbut. Mary Melissa Derick was baptized on 26 September 1819 at Caldwell's Manor, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 She married Isaac Salls Jr., son of Isaac Salls and Elizabeth Crawford, on 4 October 1838 at St Armand, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Isaac Salls was aged 23 years, and Melissa was aged 20 years, and married with the consent of her father, William Derick.2 Mary Melissa Derick died on 27 April 1900 at Rock Island, Stanstead Co, Quebec, at age 81. She was buried on 29 April 1900 at Beebe Plain Cemetery, Beebe, Stanstead Co, Quebec.
