John Derick Salls

     John Derick Salls was born on 12 April 1869 at Chateaugay, Franklin Co, New York.¹ He was the son of Isaac Salls Jr. and Mary Melissa Derick. John Derick Salls married Carrie Nellie Herald on 29 December 1891 at Derby, Orleans Co, Vermont. John Derick Salls married Katherine Lamkins on 8 September 1908 at Marion, Linn Co, Iowa; John was 48 years old and Katherine was 45.² John Derick Salls and an unknown person were divorced on 2 August 1919 at Van Buren Co, Michigan; The charge was extreme cruelty and the divorce was pending. It was granted 6 Jul 1925.³ He died on 7 December 1939 at County Hospital, Hartford, Van Buren Co, Michigan, at age 70; He was then a resident of Paw Paw, Michigan.^4,5 He was buried on 9 December 1939 at Prospect Hill, Paw Paw, Van Buren Co, Michigan.⁵

Salls listed himself as 50 years old, born NY, married (but no family listed), parents were born US.⁷
