Angelina Keet

     Angelina Keet was born on 18 February 1815 at Caldwell's Manor, (now Missisquoi Co), Quebec.¹ She was the daughter of Jonathan Keet and Sarah Lamb. Angelina Keet was baptized on 14 October 1824 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.² She married Daniel Tryon Nokes, son of Stephen Nokes and Jane Longeway, on 20 November 1837 at St Armand, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; St Armand Methodist Church. Angelina Keet married Richard Maplesdon? on 24 February 1886 at Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec.³ Angelina Keet died on 9 November 1896 at Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec, at age 81.⁴ She was buried on 10 November 1896 at Marlington Cemetery, Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec.⁴
     She left a will on 20 December 1852 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Angelina's Last Will indicates that everything go to her husband, Daniel Nokes, until his decease. She then listed a few specific bequeathments. Included were Angelina Mandigo, d/o Morea Mandigo and Mary Noakes, Angelina Hurlbut, d/o Ishmael Hurlbut and Eliza Lewis, Angelia Lovisa Keet, d/o David Keet and Ann Rember, her three sisters, Polly, Rachel and Jerusha Keet; Mary Sears "adopted daughter"; Phebe Wait, Sally Wait, Almira Wait, Mary Ann Wait, and Almeda Wait, daughters of Briggs Wait and Mary Shear, his wife. Monies left to Mary Noakes, Hester Noakes and Matilda Wait to share, and if they pass, to her sisters, named above. But it will not take place until the deaths of Briggs Wait and Jane Langevin, my father and mother in law. Executors were to be Daniel Noakes, husband, Briggs Wait, father in law, and Amos Hawley Vaughan, friend.⁵
