Phoebe Almira Wait

     Phoebe Almira Wait was born on 15 September 1813 at Christie's Manor, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.¹ She was the daughter of Briggs Wait and Mary Sheer/Shier. Phoebe Almira Wait was baptized on 6 August 1815 at Caldwell's Manor, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.² She married John Longeway, son of Remie Longeway and Marie Geneviève Raimond, on 8 February 1832 at St Armand, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.³ Phoebe Almira Wait was buried at Fairmount Cemetery, Sutton, Brome Co, Quebec.⁴ She died after 1881.
     On 31 May 1862, Almira Wait, and her husband, John Longeway, both of Sutton, sold all rights due her "by the decease of the said late Mary Shier, her mother". She passed any claim on to her brother, Enoch Wait, of Stanstead. This was passed before Henry Bondy. She and John Longeway appeared on the census of 1881 at Sutton, Brome Co, Quebec, and were listed as Methodist.⁵
