     Augustus Longeway was born on 18 August 1835 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. He was the son of John Longeway and Phoebe Almira Wait. Augustus Longeway was baptized on 22 November 1835 at St Armand, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 He married Lois Darby on 14 October 1855 at Dunham, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. Augustus Longeway died on 1 September 1906 at age 71.2 He was buried at Fairmount Cemetery, Sutton, Brome Co, Quebec.3
     He and Lois Darby appeared on the census of 1881 at Sutton, Brome Co, Quebec, and were listed as Methodist. Children listed were Merrit B., 24, James J., 21, and Elwin A., 13.4
