Sarah Brooks was born circa 1766 at Cape Hatteras, Currituck Co, North Carolina. She married Jesse Midyett circa 1791 at North Carolina. Sarah Brooks married Jesse Tiner, son of John Tyner, on 26 November 1812 at Johnston Co, North Carolina.1 Sarah Brooks died before August 1837 at Haywood Co, Tennessee; Sally was of Madison County, Tennesee.2
She left a will on 12 January 1826 at Haywood Co, Tennessee; Sally was of Madison County, Tennessee. She lent her Negro girl Tamer to Isaac and Ann Wellings during their lives, and then "Colyer" Midgett and Sarah Catherine Tiner. He "large" church Bible was to go to Micajah Midgett, and anything left after debts are paid to Josiah Midgett. Inventory showed she left her Negro woman Tamer and child Isaac, one feather bed, one chest and the Bible.3
