William Edward Scott
     William Edward Scott was born on 10 March 1863 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 He was the son of Gilbert Scott and Judith Elizabeth Tryon. William Edward Scott and Margaret Lavinia Salls have also be reported to have been married 30 September 1887 Worcester, Worcester Co, Massachusetts.1 William Edward Scott married Margaret Lavinia Salls, daughter of Merritt Alonzo Salls and Lydia Maria Young, on 29 September 1888 at Worcester, Worcester Co, Massachusetts.2,3 William Edward Scott died on 20 November 1931 at Clinton, Worcester Co, Massachusetts, at age 68.4 He was buried on 22 November 1931 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, Worcester Co, Massachusetts.5
     William Edward Scott was a carpenter for Lancaster Mills and had also been a member of the Steamer Company of the Clinton Fire Department. He was naturalized on 26 September 1896 at Clinton, Worcester Co, Massachusetts; William was 33, and living at 234 High Street, Clinton at that time.6 He appeared on the census of 4 June 1900 at 500 High Street, Clinton, Worcester Co, Massachusetts; William E. Scott, 37, Margaret L., 37, Wilhemina M., 17, all born in Canada, Mildred S, 11, Veva P., 9 and Muriel M., 2, all three born in MA. The record shows that William came to the US in 1884 and Margaret in 1883. William was a carpenter and Wilhelmina was a stenographer. Wilhelmina was listed as Scott in the entry.7 He appeared on the census of 21 April 1910 at 542 High Street, Clinton, Worcester Co, Massachusetts; William E. Scott and wife Margaret L. were both aged 47. They had been married 22 years, and Margaret had four children three still living. William was a carpenter. Daughters Mildred E., 21, Veva P., 19, and Muriel M., 12, were living with them in Clinton.8 He appeared on the census of 15 January 1920 at 542 High Street, Clinton, Worcester Co, Massachusetts; William was now aged 57, Margaret 56. William had come to the states in 1885, and Margaret in 1865. They were both naturalized in 1900. Daughters "Eva", 28, and Muriel, 22, were living in Clinton with them.9 He appeared on the census of 5 April 1930 at 63 High Street, Clinton, Worcester Co, Massachusetts; William and Margaret were both aged 67, and living with them was daughter, Veva, 38. William was listed a s a general carpenter, and that he had arrived in the US in 1886, and Margaret in 1883.10
