Ephraim Wheeler

     Ephraim Wheeler was born on 2 August 1802 at Christie's Manor, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.¹ He was the son of Joseph Wheeler and Hannah Brown. Ephraim Wheeler was baptized on 5 October 1817 at St George's Anglican Church, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.² He married Mary Filer, daughter of Ephraim Filer and Elizabeth Tryon, on 15 February 1824 at St George's Anglican Church, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.² Ephraim Wheeler married Nancy Fadden, daughter of William C. Fadden and Jane M. Scott, on 21 November 1833 at Alburgh, Grand Isle Co, Vermont; Alburgh Vital Records.
     Ephraim Wheeler witnessed the death of Elizabeth Tryon on 28 April 1828 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.³
     On the 31st of Oct 1837, Ephraim placed a notice in the newspaper, whereas he said since his wife Nancy Wheeler, had left his bed and board, he would not accept any charges she made to his account. Although, she must have returned because they had quite a few children following that date.⁴ Ephraim Wheeler witnessed the burial of Miranda Jane Wheeler on 26 September 1845 at Missisquoi Co, Quebec.⁵ Ephraim Wheeler witnessed the burial of Joseph Wheeler on 13 January 1846 at St George's Anglican Cemetery, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.⁵ Ephraim Wheeler appeared on the census of 1875 at Sibley Co, Minnesota; Ephraim Wheeler, 72, wife Nancy, 59, both b. Canada; Bertha, 15, b. VT.⁶
