On 12 September 1918, Scott Tryon registered for the WWI draft. He was a resident of Hudson, New Jersey, with gray eyes, brown hair, tall and of medium build. He was then a Railroard Chief Clerk for Grand Central in New York.2 Scott Tryon appeared on the census of 5 January 1920 at Union, Hudson Co, New York; Scott Tryon was 40, wife Ethel, 37, Ferris, 16, Louis, 12 and Bert, 11. Ethel was a hihgh school teacher.4
