     Benjamin Ernest Salls was born on 13 January 1796 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. He was the son of Hix Salls and Mary Briggs. Benjamin Ernest Salls married Lucy C. Curtis, daughter of Darius Curtis and Hannah Filer, on 11 January 1818 at St George's Anglican Church, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 Benjamin Ernest Salls married Margaret Manson, daughter of William Manson and Ruth Andrews, on 29 March 1841 at St Armand, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; St Armand West (Phillipsburg) Church. Benjamin Ernest Salls died on 27 July 1865 at St Armand, Missisquoi Co, Quebec, at age 69.2 He was buried on 30 July 1865.
     On 4 Mar 1818, Hix Salls gave his son Benjamin some land in Noyan from his land and next to his brother, Stephen. It was done before Leon Lalanne, notary at the house of Stephen Salls. Mary Briggs also appeared to agree to the terms of the donation.3 He witnessed the marriage of Samuel Durgin Welch and Elizabeth Wait on 5 April 1818 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; In 1838 the Welchs resided in Hinchenbrooke, PQ.1 Benjamin Ernest Salls witnessed the marriage of Aaron Spear and Louisa Salls on 3 June 1844 at St George's Anglican Church, Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.4 Benjamin Ernest Salls witnessed the marriage of Lydia Salls and Moses Spear on 8 February 1846 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.5,4
