Patience Webber was born circa 1711 at Maine. She was the daughter of John Webber and Magdalene Hilton. Patience Webber married John Hammond, son of Benjamin Hammond and Sarah Eastman, on 28 December 1732 at No. Yarmouth, Cumberland Co, Maine; John Hammond was a resident of Noorth Yarmouth when married there.1 Patience Webber died circa 5 July 1770 at N. Yarmouth, Cumberland Co, Maine; This date is when she was removed from the church rolls.1
Sources tell us that Patience was the daughter of a John Webber of North Yarmouth, Cumberland County, Maine. The only John Webber that could possibly have been her father was this one. Time wise, she would fit nicely into the years he was married to Magdalene Mainwaring. Although this line of thinking has yet to be proved, it is most reasonable and I am accepting it. Some of John Webber's children settled in North Yarmouth, so it is reasonable to suppose that he was the John mentioned as the father of Patience.
Records at the First Parish Church at N. Yarmouth show that Patience was admitted to the church at the same time as her husband - 31 October 1742, and was removed by death 5 July 1770.2
